Trey Malicoat is a man with diverse interest, experience, and education. Some say, “Trey is a modern-day Renaissance man with a message forthe world.”His passion is simple…to move people: move people in the community, in business, and in society to think and act differently. Based on his experience and knowledge, through dynamic storytelling Trey encourages people to live boldly. In addition, it is his goal with every keynote and workshop to impart hope; hope for people who are discouraged, disenfranchised, dis-empowered, and feeling hopeless. Hope for people who are caught in the pressures of work, family, partnerships, and social commitments. Hope for people who have lost joy and purpose in life. Hope for people who struggle to find hope.
Trey is recognized as a national expert on the effects of stress and trauma and is a noted speaker on personal resiliency, hope, diversity, and change. His work has been recognized by numerous regional and national media outlets including: 365gay.com, Oregon Public Radio, National Public Radio New Zealand, Channel One New Zealand, The Oregonian, The Bilerico Project, The Service Members Legal Defense Network, The Christian Science Monitor, The National Association for Death Education, Hope Magazine, JustOut Portland, The Business Journal, and many others. He has conducted workshops and keynote addresses in most of the major cities in the US and has worked abroad in Canada and New Zealand. As a therapist, Trey worked directly with the victims of the Columbine High School shooting and the World Trade Center tragedy.
Trey has written two books, The Significant Challenge of Change: Death Divorce & Life Transitions for Children that has been published in the US and New Zealand and “Passion: Practical Tips for Living a Passionate and Authentic Life” scheduled for release in 2011.
Trey holds a Master of Science Degree in Psychology from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, TX and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations from Whitworth College in Spokane, Washington.
